ShadFest 2025 Bucks County Returns This April
Bucks County, Pennsylvania, fills with a festive spirit each April for the annual ShadFest™ 2025 Bucks County! Every spring, the nearby town of Lambertville welcomes visitors as it marks the return of the shad fish to the Delaware River. This beloved event takes place on April 26th and 27th from 11 am to 5 pm, drawing tens of thousands of people to celebrate the local heritage, art, music, food, and, of course, the iconic shad fish.
Honoring the ShadFest™ Lambertville Tradition
ShadFest™ is deeply rooted in the history of the Delaware River, which has long been home to shad fish. Historically, shad were a vital source of food and income for the local community. This tradition continues today with shad hauling demonstrations on Lewis Island on both Saturday and Sunday. The Lewis family, who have been fishing these waters since 1888, hold the only remaining commercial license to catch shad with nets. Watching them in action is a highlight of the festival, offering a glimpse into the area's rich history.
